Nîmes is the Gard's big night-out city: summer concerts in a Roman amphitheatre, one of the largest contemporary music venues in the region, an accredited theatre and férias (the city's bullfighting festivals). Here is the calendar published by each venue as of 3 November 2026, and where to stay as a group.

The Festival de Nîmes, in the Arènes

Every summer, the Festival de Nîmes stages its concerts in the Arènes, the best-preserved Roman amphitheatre in the world. The 2027 line-up already announces:

  • June: Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators on the 15th, Fontaines D.C. on the 16th, Julien Clerc and Laurent Voulzy on the 19th, Queens of the Stone Age on the 23rd, Ninho on the 25th;
  • July: Christophe Maé on the 1st, the Béjart Ballet Lausanne on the 3rd, Vianney on the 9th, Tokio Hotel and Kyo on the 11th, Scorpions on the 15th, Toto and Christopher Cross on the 17th.

More artists may be added. For these summer evenings, book your accommodation as soon as you have your tickets.

The férias and the Journées romaines

The Arènes also host the city's big festivals. The Féria de Pentecôte takes place over the Whitsun weekend (16 May in 2027) and the Féria des Vendanges (grape harvest féria) in September; their 2027 dates have not yet been published. The Journées romaines, a historical re-enactment, are announced for April 2027.

Paloma, the concert venue

Paloma is the contemporary music venue of Nîmes Métropole: a main hall of around 1,350 places and a 350-capacity club, in the east of the city, near the Nîmes-Est exit and Marguerittes. Parking is free and a tram shuttle takes concert-goers back to the centre after the shows. Its programme includes:

  • November 2026: St. Paul & The Broken Bones on the 9th, Alela Diane on the 12th, FFF on the 18th, Camille on the 20th, Pierre de Maere on the 25th;
  • March 2027: La Rue Kétanou on the 11th, Skip the Use on the 12th, Girls in Hawaii on the 20th, Adèle Castillon on the 27th;
  • April 2027: Rodrigo y Gabriela on the 3rd, Jeanne Added on the 7th, Dominique A on the 28th, and the comedian Ana Godefroy on the 29th.

Some dates are already sold out: check availability on the website before planning your stay.

The Théâtre de Nîmes

The Théâtre de Nîmes programmes theatre, dance and music in its two auditoriums in the centre. In its 2026-2027 season: the Orchestre national de France in Bach's "Oratorio de Noël" (Christmas Oratorio) on 15 December, the pianist Brad Mehldau on 3 February 2027, and "En attendant Godot" (Waiting for Godot) on 21 and 22 April. In January, the theatre organises the Festival Flamenco de Nîmes, with performances announced on 9 and 10 January 2027.

Programmes change: check the dates on each venue's website before booking your stay.

Staying as a group

For a concert with friends or family, the Villa Romana, south of Nîmes, sleeps up to twelve people and has a pool, a quarter of an hour's drive from the Arènes: you can meet by the water before the concert, and nobody has to drive home at night.
