By Boost Loc Pro · Updated November 1, 2026

In December, Uzès keeps its Saturday market and adds its Christmas events. The main Christmas market takes over the Place aux Herbes and the Place du Duché for three days, and a smaller market in November opens the season. Here are the dates published by the organisers and our tips for staying in the centre, within walking distance of the stalls.
The Christmas market: 12, 13 and 14 December
The Comité des fêtes 2026 programme, published by the town of Uzès, lists the Christmas market on Saturday 12, Sunday 13 and Monday 14 December, on the Place aux Herbes and the Place du Duché. The town states that this programme is given for information only: check the opening hours on its website or with the tourist office as the weekend approaches.
The 2026 opening hours have not yet been published. For reference, in 2025 the town opened the market on Saturday from 10 am to 11 pm on the Place du Duché and in the evening, from 7 pm to 11 pm, on the Place aux Herbes, then from 10 am to 6 pm on both squares on Sunday and Monday.
On Saturday morning, the Place aux Herbes hosts the weekly market: do it in the morning, the Christmas market on the Place du Duché in the afternoon, and come back in the evening for the late opening under the plane trees.
Before that: the MFR du Grand Mas market, 28 November
The Maison familiale rurale du Grand Mas holds a Christmas market on Saturday 28 November 2026, from 10 am to 6 pm, outdoors. Stallholders and gift ideas, a visit from Father Christmas, hook-a-duck and candyfloss for the children, a food truck, mulled wine and crêpes. Entry is free and the proceeds fund the students' outings and projects. Le Grand Mas is on the edge of town: allow a few minutes by car from the centre.
The same month at L'Ombrière
The Pays d'Uzès cultural centre also has dates in December: "Le Petit Prince" in sand drawing on the 5th, "Curiosité", circus and dance, on 13 December at 5 pm, during the market weekend, and a Nuits Musicales concert on the 18th. Details and tickets are in our guide to L'Ombrière and on the official ticket office.
And in January, the truffle
For those coming back after the holidays, the Fête de la truffe takes place at L'Ombrière from 15 to 17 January 2027. Booking a January weekend as early as December is a good idea: it is the other big winter event in Uzès.
Where to stay for the Christmas market
The market is best done on foot, and staying overnight in the centre saves you looking for a parking space on Saturday morning.
- With family or friends: the Maison Belon, three minutes from the Place aux Herbes, can be rented in full for up to ten people or apartment by apartment.
- For four: Le Familial chic, three minutes from the square, with its balcony over the rooftops.
- For two: Le Saint Julien, two minutes from the Place aux Herbes.
Parking is in the paid car parks on the boulevards, a few minutes' walk away. As the market dates are already known, it is best to book your December weekend now.
